Goaltuesday

Was gonna just run with Zak and Patrick...but ended up playing BOOT for a bit more than an hour, then goaltimate for 20 minutes/til it got dark.  It was way more fun than I thought it was gonna be (no BS) and my back warmed up alright.

Sun+Labor day

Went up MT TOBY with Maya, Baylis, and the family on Sunday.
Chilled with Maya til she left on Labor Day, then went for a few mile walk with the family and Michael and then went to his house for some burgs.

No running or anything.  But it was all fuuun.

5 Hour prac?

We had a surprise practice from 1-6 at Groff Park!

Missing was: micah, tyler, owen, kanner, hirch, zak, skip, maybe others.

O line won the first scrimmage to 5, after being down 3-1 or so.  Both lines then worked on their zones.  There was a significant improvement in the Os 1-3-3, but it was a struggle for a while.  Our O against their zone was also struggling, but we when it came to the final scrimmage to 9, we rocked.  Up 8-2, they scored three in a row, but we finally put it in to beat em up.

My back did not feel too good.  It never really warmed up all the way, despite being a really long practice, and was just kinda more stiff than I could stand, making me play worse, not really being able to play D too well.

Dinner and drinking with Maya, dad, caitlin, baylis, joe, brent and their ladies.  Good times.

Goaltimate

Patrick and I ran around the 1.6 twice, to make it 3.2 miles before meeting up with others to play Goaltimate.

Henry, Joe, Jonah, Christian, Bill, Robin, Evan, Miles.

Played for 1.5-2 hours.  Pretty fun, some people were annoying, I had a couple of sick catches if I do say so myself, I also had a hard time running hard the whole time, but that just seems to be the way that game goes.

100pushups

LIGHT jog

Met up with Miles and Christian at Stanley Street.

Threw around.

Went for a LIGHT jog.  MAYBE 2.5 miles.

Did some pushups, pullups and abs.  And got eaten alive.  I think 100pushups?

Chesapeake

Long drive down, even longer drive back (10hrs?).  Driving with Patrick, Joe, and Jonah was really fun, despite my back pains and traffic.  Jonah's hilarious.

As far as the ultimate...

We went 4-4 for the weekend, ending up 6th.
Beat: Invictus (?), LOS (by one), El Diablo, Truck Stop (DGP)
Lost to: Chain, Machine (DGP), Ironside, GOAT

The Machine game felt pretty good, as did the ElDiablo game as we came out strong Sunday morning.  Even though we lost the Goat game by a good amount, it still felt like we had a handle on things, just had some really bad/stupid turns.  The Chain and Ironside games were just pretty embarrassing.  The O line just could not put it in, so we all got frustrated, and I got pretty unhappy and mad.  I HATE how I feel when this happens.  It's just so damn hard to lose to the same teams over and over because the line you play on just can't get it done.  All weekend I just felt like we were letting the team down when we didn't score...We can't be perfect, but we are not pulling our weight right now.  I also feel like I should be able to do more, but just struggle a lot with the vert stack resets.  BUT, hopefully we learned a thing or two.  One thing I learned is that we need to play more HO and change up the handler set for the vert so that we can use more of the field.  As of now, we don't break the mark much, so really, we just need to change things so that the field is used more with dumps and swings (easier resets.

Good to see Megan, Emily, Alex, Jake, and the hang with Baylis and Kanner a bit.

I'm looking forward to Chicago.  It will go better.
